Community Mothers Organize Bingo Fundraiser for St. Finnachtas National School’s Sensory Room

Local ASD Class to Benefit from Exciting Event and Online Donations

A group of local mothers, Janice O’Shea, Ruth Lee, Lisa McCoy, and Karen Dolan, have taken the initiative to organize a special fundraising event to support the Sensory Room in St. Finnachtas National School in Sixmilebridge. Recognizing the school’s need to acquire essential equipment and furniture for their sensory room, which caters to the needs of the school’s ASD class, these mothers, who’s children are in the ASD class, are to host a memorable Bingo evening filled with fun and excitement.

The much-anticipated bingo fundraiser, with James Sexton as the host, is scheduled to take place at 7pm on Thursday, 22nd June at Treacy’s Oakwood Hotel in Shannon. This event promises to be an enjoyable night for all attendees, where they can engage in the timeless game of bingo while contributing to a worthy cause. Participants can anticipate an evening of laughter, friendly competition, and the chance to win fantastic prizes.

In addition to the bingo games, the organizers have arranged a raffle, adding an extra element of anticipation to the night’s proceedings. Attendees will have the opportunity to win a range of fabulous spot prizes, making the event even more memorable and engaging.

The sensory room plays a vital role in supporting the educational journey of the students in St. Finnachtas National School’s ASD class. Designed to provide a controlled and stimulating environment, the sensory room helps students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) to explore their senses, engage in therapeutic activities, and promote their overall well-being. By creating a space that caters to their specific needs, the school aims to foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment.

With the bingo fundraiser set to take place at Treacy’s Oakwood Hotel, community members can look forward to an evening of entertainment, camaraderie, and the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of the students in the ASD class, now and in the future. The event promises to bring people together while raising crucial funds to ensure that the sensory room can continue to provide a nurturing and enriching experience for these students.

The initiative led by these mothers showcases the power of community spirit and the importance of collective action in supporting educational institutions and children with special needs. By organizing this event and providing a convenient online platform for donations, the mothers hope to galvanize the community and encourage widespread participation in their fundraising efforts.

As the bingo night approaches, the organizers remain optimistic that the event will not only be an incredible evening of fun but also a resounding success in their quest to create a better learning environment for the students of St. Finnachtas National School’s ASD class. Together, they are laying the foundation for a brighter future, one bingo number at a time.
